Meet The Coaches

Stewart Isaacs

Stewart Isaacs is the Founder/Owner of Helios. Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Stewart is a graduate of Davidson College. He comes from an athletic background and has dedicated his career to aquatics education and coaching in the Charlotte Area. Stewart has worked and coached for local clubs and performance centers, gaining valuable coaching and business experience.

Stewart strives to provide authentic learning/training experiences for athletes of all ages. Learning to swim is a valuable life skill that can begin at an early age! Competitively, he values his principles and believes that athletes can learn a lot about themselves and their peers/teammates through athletic experiences and competition.

Courtney Stromme

Sydney Haun

Sydney has been coaching with Helios since Fall 2022. She has been year-round competitively for 6 years, beginning when she was 9 with Coach Stewart. Sydney continues to swim for her club team, the Macaulay Marlins, and Pine Lake Prep High School. She recently placed 4th in the 200 IM at the 1A/2A State Championship, swimming for her high school team. Sydney loves working with children and coaching. When Sydney is not swimming, she loves to hang out with her friends!

Abby Baker

Eleanor Burdette

Eleanor has been swimming for 11 years and coaching for the last 2 summers. She swims with Coach Stewart at Lake Norman Charter, and swims for the Hampton Hammerheads in the summer. She also runs both cross country and track for her school. She loves coaching kids and helping them get better with swimming. When she’s not swimming, she loves to travel with her family.

Sara Moody

Sara has been a competitive swimmer since 2014. She has been lifeguarding since Summer 2022. Sara has coached for the Highland Creek Hurricanes, her neighborhood summer swim team, as well as various private and group swim lessons. She has been with the team since 2014. Sara has been a part of the Christ the King swim team since 2022 and has recently begun swimming year round at Helios but has swam year round at other facilities in years past. When she's not at the pool, Sara enjoys spending time with her friends, listening to music, and going on drives. 

Jay Burroughs

Jay Burroughs is a senior at Lake Norman Charter. He has swam competitively for LNC for 3 years and will continue to swim during his senior year. He began swimming for his neighborhood team, Skybrook Storm, 9 years ago where he has learned to be a good swimmer, teammate, leader, and hard worker. He now coaches for the Skybrook Swim Team during the summer. Jay is looking forward to meeting new faces since this will be his first time coaching for Helios Swim Team.
